The words, “carbon footprint” have become a big part of today’s conversation that addresses the emission of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. With this footprint, the smaller it is, the better. There is, however, another footprint that should be of greater concern to us Christians than the carbon ones, and that is the “spiritual footprint” we leave behind. In this case, the bigger it is, the better.

There are so many we have known over the years who continue to touch us, even after their passing. Our lives are covered with the footprints of parents, Manley Beasley, Ron Dunn, Stephen Olford, E. A. Frink, John L. Fain, Lucy Esch, Avery Willis, the Schaeffers…the list seems unending. Then there are those we only know from reading about them, so many who served their generation well and continue to serve our generation, and will serve generations to come. Big footprints!
