A word of praise to the Creator of ALL beauty, as Patricia and I head for Mena, Arkansas, for a 4 day meeting with our friend and “son-in-the-ministry,” Harry Layden. We’ll be at Salem Baptist, pastored by Jack Schoeppy, with whom we go back to the 70’s when he was on the staff at Eastwood Baptist, in Tulsa, pastored at the time by Tom Elliff. It was then we also first met Harry. A lot of memories are wrapped up in these four days.

“Then I heard,” said John, “the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing’ (Revelation 5:11-12).

A Sun Without a Sphere

Ten thousand times ten thousand stand
around Your throne Most High.
Ten thousand times ten thousand
sound Your praise! But who am I?

I sing because You are my sun,
Your light has shone on me.
I’ll sing until this life is done,
To You all praises be.

Your brightness, Lord, each day appears
fresh as the morning dew.
It lifts our spirits, calms our fears,
We rest secure in You.

You are a sea without a shore,
A sun without a sphere.
Your time, oh Lord, is evermore,
Your place is everywhere.
