Christmas memories! Among the many we have was one that took place in Moscow ten years ago, making this year the tenth anniversary, of the performance of “The Christmas Lamb” at the “International House of Music” just built on the Moscow river. It had been chosen by the “Billy Graham Association” as their major outreach to the City of Moscow that year. It was performed by the Logos Choir and Orchestra.

We’ll never forget the crowds. From common folk to dignitaries, which were to have included Vladimir Putin who, due to some conflict, sent the President of the Duma, (Russia’s parliament) in his place. For two nights we witnessed how God can use the arts to present the Gospel to folk who would otherwise turn a deaf ear to its message. And what a message we have to share! The message of Immanuel, God with us!
“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a Son, and they will call Him, Immanuel, which means, ‘God with us.'”

“By Moses we received the law with all its strict demands;
But grace and truth through Jesus Christ are offered now to man.
‘Til now no one had looked on God, no eye had seen His face,
But all God’s fullness was revealed in Him who took our place.

“He came, born of a virgin’s womb, God wrapped in human flesh.
He came, He came not of man’s will, but by God’s He blessed.
He came, He came in human form, the Son with us to dwell;
And when He came, those who could see, beheld IMMANUEL!
