GOD’S WAYS ARE NOT OUR WAYS

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts. neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

In lowly circumstances Jesus came,
And few there were who even knew His name.
A stable, sheep, a manger bed,
And on His mother’s lap our Lord was fed,
GOD’S WAYS ARE NOT OUR WAYS.

Can this be God, is this the Promised One?
Can this be He, God’s one and only Son?
How can it be, so humble is His birth?
Why would God choose this way to come to earth?

In lowly circumstances Jesus came.
He did not seek earth’s fortunes, nor its fame.
And of this world’s possessions nothing claimed;
To do God’s will, for this alone He came—
