Memorial Day, 2020

REMEMBER
We set aside a day in May
Remembering those who’ve passed our way,
Whose time on earth was gone too soon.
Now, ’neath the sod where flowers bloom
They lie, and we remember.

Some here at home, and some abroad,
Our heroes lie beneath the sod.
Graves old and new, row upon row
Their final rest, where poppies grow,
We pause, and we remember.

Remembering those who heard the call,
Loved ones and friends who gave their all
That freedom’s bell might still resound,
We honor now their hallowed ground.
We pray, and we remember.
